2025 Champions: Drew Gross & Zac Funk
The Steel Curtain Meets the Toner Mafia.
Some duos just make sense. Peanut butter and jelly. Montana and Rice. A guy who runs a steel empire and a guy who sells printer ink. Wait — what?
Drew Gross — President & COO of Alliance Steel out of Gary, Indiana — showed up to Foxford Hills like a man who negotiates million-dollar coil shipments for a living: calm under pressure, impossibly dialed in, and absolutely unwilling to leave money on the table. This is a guy who's spent 15+ years climbing from sales grunt to running the whole operation. Turns out that corporate killer instinct translates directly to staring down a 6-footer for birdie.
His partner? Zac Funk, CEO of International Toner Corp — a Chicago-area toner cartridge kingpin who's been running the family business since before most of you could break 90. Over two decades in the game. The man recycles, manufactures, AND distributes. You think he can't read a green? He's been reading rooms since 2008.
Together, Gross & Funk formed perhaps the most unlikely — and unstoppable — pairing in BMGO history. Steel and toner. Gary and Chicago. Two CEOs who apparently decided that running companies all week wasn't enough — they needed to come out on a Friday and embarrass the rest of you too.
The field never stood a chance. FBGM.
BMGO 2024 Champions
James Lumsden & Zach Stortzum
James Lumsden and Zach Stortzum didn’t just win the 2024 Bro Montana Golf Outing—they put the field on a leash and took it for a brisk walk. From the very first tee at Foxford Hills, their scorecards looked more like cheat codes than golf totals, with birdies flying faster than lost balls in the prairie rough. By Friday afternoon they’d built enough daylight to cast their own shadows of legend, hoisting the cup while the chase pack was still reaching for sunscreen. Rumor has it the trophy politely asked for their autographs before they even touched it.
As for Mr. Lumsden, the man in maple-leaf mystique, his victory makes it three titles since 2011—proving that polite Canadian domination is still domination. (We hear he says “sorry” each time he sinks a winning putt, but only in metric.) With Zach’s steady cannon off the tee and James’ north-of-the-border putting touch, the duo left spectators wondering whether next year’s handicap should include snowshoes, tariffs, or both. Congrats, champs—may your passport stamps match your trophy count!
